In October 2013 the Minister for Social Protection, Ms Joan Burton T.D., officially launched the Irish Remote Interpreting Service (IRIS) in Deaf Village Ireland, Cabra, Dublin. The Minister said at the launch that she looked forward to IRIS being available in every Department of Social Protection INTREO centre and throughout the public service in the near future.
